Roelofs & Rubens Pre-Christmas Sale is the time of year we open our studio doors and offer a lovely festive ‘thank you’ discount on our products. We love our customers coming to visit us (old and new) and it’s a great one-off event for grabbing a bargain, seeing our latest Christmas range and enjoying some dutch coffee, apple cake and worstenbroodjes (see picture!).
The date is set to give plenty of notice, invites and flyers printed and sent, facebook announcement made. Then the hard work starts to get the studio and house Christmas Sale ready and making sure the full range of decorations are in stock (everything is handmade). At the same time we are fulfilling customer orders, working on new designs, walking Maggie the dog…. and England are playing very well in the Rugby World Cup!
England played so well they made it through to the Final which was great news for the world of sport, however, tough competition for us as the Final would take place on the same day as the R&R Pre-Christmas Sale!
The Sale went ahead despite the rugby and a major weather warning (high winds, torrential rain – we couldn’t have opened our doors on a more challenging day!). We offered shoulder’s to cry on, amazing dutch coffee and foodie goodies – and much later beer and wine. The outside bunting survived the winds and the lovely discounts available inside the warm studio helped get people started on their Christmas shopping journey… and the worstenbroodjes were a big hit!
It was good fun and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who made the effort to come and say hello. Things are starting to feel very Christmassy…
