Giving & Living 2020

Roelofs & Rubens wishes you all a very Happy New Year!

It’s been a busy start for us here at our cottage studio with preparations for upcoming trade fairs alongside the usual creating and decorating that comes with our day-to-day lives!

Last week, we made our way down to Devon for the Giving & Living Trade Show in Exeter. It is the largest Gifts and Home trade show in the South West and this was our third time attending. Trade shows like this are always a great opportunity for our team to meet with new customers and explore new bespoke possibilities.

From 12th to 15th January, we could be found on Stand 846 in the Westpoint Exhibition Centre with our collection of hand-painted decorations, as well as more information on the bespoke services we offer too. Piet also showcased a fantastic collection of Pom Pom necklaces across the days she was at the show; they really were fabulous and became somewhat of a talking point for customers.

We spent all day setting up on 11th, trying to get our stand looking just right – we think we did a pretty good job. We love creating colourful designs for our trade stands so, despite the strict time constraints, we had a lot of fun.

The show went well for us, despite Storm Brendan’s attempts to disrupt everything! It’s fair to say the South West definitely felt the force of the storm on the Tuesday, but we were really grateful to everyone who made it out to the show despite the awful conditions. It was great to meet so many new people, as well as seeing some familiar faces too.

After dismantling our display and driving back home to West Woodhay late on the Wednesday evening, we were up and ready to work again first thing Thursday morning. There’s no rest for the wicked!

As a team, we are really looking forward to what 2020 is going to bring!
We are ready to get started on the new bespoke work and our small team of staff have already made a start on the trade orders too. We are also busy preparing for the Spring Fair, our next trade show, which is taking place in Birmingham in early February. It’s fair to say it’s all go here, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
