We are very happy to have been able to deliver our latest bespoke order of hanging decorations to Arley Hall and Gardens in Northwich, Cheshire.
We made striking black and white ceramic decorations (with a touch of red) depicting this interesting stately home.
The first hall was built in 1469 and the one standing now dates from around 1832. It has amazing architectural features in red brick; we love the criss-crosses and the details on the chimneys.
The hall is surrounded by beautiful gardens that have been created over the last 250 years by successive generations of the same family. There are formal gardens, an arboretum and a Woodland Walk.
The design of these decorations for Arley Hall was a fantastic challenge and the production of the ceramics happened in real lock down style.
We had to organise ‘take-out’ clay, mail order black glaze, emailing Dani about measurements and discussing the testing and the results of new decals ink per zoom. We were dropping off decorations on Rachel’s garden table for her to apply decals in her kitchen while home schooling, picking them up again from aforementioned garden table, straight back to the kiln in our ‘firing’ garage.
We really are missing our team coming here to the house to help, to have a chat and giving their highly valued advice. We can’t wait for everyone coming back, fully vaccinated. It should be not too long now.
Anyway, go and check out the decorations at Arley Hall’s shop, have a wonderful walk in the garden and a nice cup of tea in the cafe and hopefully you can see the hall itself inside soon as well.
